A weblog by Ernie Hsiung

…after the events of today. (Mandarin, like always, is in italics.)

(The cellphone rings.)

Ernie: Hello?
Ernie’s Mom: SEE!? I TOLD YOU YOU SHOULD HAVE STICKED TO THE BUTTERFLIES!

(Cut to Mom high-fiving Steve Ballmer, turning to the camera and both giving the thumbs-up sign. Cue laugh track, fade to black.)

Craziness. Although I totally disagree in the letter that Windows Vista is in any way something positive. Holy crap though, this could wind up being pretty freakin’ complicated.

  2. Steven says:

    Wow. That’s definitely a scene from a much-needed Asian prime-time sitcom.

On a side note, your site seems to have lots all of its CSS and pretty pictures. The good news is that I can read it on my Kindle. The bad news is that I can read it on my Kindle. What gives?

  3. Mo says:

What makes me a nerd is that I heard this on the radio and immediately thought, “Huh, I wonder what Ernie might have to say about it.”

I’m glad you did have something, otherwise I would have felt like a total loser.

  4. Chason says:

Am I the only one that thinks this might be a good thing? Google is great but needs some competition, something that Microsoft and Yahoo could not do on their own. Maybe together they can spur on a little healthy competition.

  5. Jeffrey says:

You come here not to praise the butterfly, but to squish it.

  6. lantzilla says:

Have you thrown the iMac at your mom yet?

  7. Soooo you got laid off?

  8. Brendan says:

Yahoo’s actually doing better than Microsoft in China in some ways, thanks to Alibaba.
