A weblog by Ernie Hsiung

Hi, I’m Ernie. I’ve had a blog and/or website, in one form or another, since 1997; you’re looking at the current version.

Some of my blogging adventures have been featured in a book, humbly called The Very Best Weblog Writing Ever By Anyone Anywhere In The Whole Wide World, Vol. 1 along with a bunch of other bloggers.

I am also the editor of 8 Asians, a collaborative blog catered to the Asian American community. I’m based in San Francisco, and you may contact me via e-mail at ernie@littleyellowdifferent.com.

As there is more to anyone than just a list of bullet points, the rest you’ll just have to read for yourself.

Please note that the views expressed on this site do not necessarily reflect the views of my employer.

I currently use Dreamhost as my hosting service.

  1. About Ernie. What’s to say.

Ernie is warm, funny, neurotic, adventurous, geeky, shortish, yellowish, and gay. You’d definitely go with him to get coffee, but be forewarned: he doesn’t hold his alcohol well. One drink and he’s on the floor.

There’s a reason the archives are offline for the moment. Through the six or so years Little, Yellow, Different has been around, Ernie has bared a considerable portion of his soul and the intimate lives of his friends and especially his family. See that haunted look in the photo above? There’s a history behind that face, and the archives are peppered with his triumphs, defeats, highs and lows. It’s one thing to bare your soul; quite another to put all the blood on display for all to see.

Over the last six years, Ernie has taken periodic breaks from his blog to reevaluate his place in the universe or lick his wounds after the latest trauma has passed. The universe has always welcomed him back with open arms because he’s worth the wait.

Ernie is the reason why I started blogging over three yeatrs ago, after stumbling upon his blog and reading his whole archives in a couple of feverish days.

One of the best, funniest, wittiest bloggers I’ve ever read.

  3. Stan says:

i love your complexion! What’s your secret?

  4. Jeffrey says:

Ernie, lots of people have made reference to your older blog archives, but I am new to your world and want to know where I can find them. Do they still live online?

  5. Will says:
