Day 2: West Village

Song of the moment: Boughetto, by Ali f/ Murphy. Yep folks, that’s the type of hip-hop club I went to last night with Bertie last night. Overheard in line last night:

(The background: Me and Bertie are waiting in line to get into the club. Two girls in halter tops are in front of us, talking to a guy. It’s also 89 degrees at 11pm, which has nothing to do with this story, but I want to emphasize how unbelievably hot it is in this damn city.)

Girl #1: You ended up goin’ to that BBQ?
Girl #2: Naaah. I went to see a movie.
Guy: What movie you end up seein’?
Girl #2: Aaaaaah. Naaah, I ain’t tellin’ you. That shit is cheesy.
Girl #1 & Guy: Shit. C’mon. Just tell us. How bad could it be?
Girl #2: Uhhh…
Girl #1 & Guy (& Me & Bertie):
Girl #2: Uhmmm.. uhhh… The Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.
Me: OH HELL NO! *COUGH* *COUGH* *COUGH*
Guy: Uhh.. that’s coo. I saw Beaches once on VCR a couple years ago.
Girl #1: I gotsa go. Think my baby daddy be pagin’ me.
