how to decentralizawha? huh?

So, I guess I can officially say that I’ll be speaking on a panel at the SXSW Conference in Austin, Texas next month on - of all things - “How to Leverage Decentralized Social Networks.”

No, seriously. Even I assumed that if I were to ever speak in a tech conference, it would be on gays, asians, blogs or gaysianblogs(tm). Not to say that I’m not grateful for Tantek for the opportunity, but I’ll be in some VERY smart company - Tantek, Joyce Park, Jonas Luster and Danah Boyd - and between those four people, I think there are 175 post-graduate degrees.

When I told my co-worker that I was going to be on a speaking panel, the first thing he said was to never say, “I don’t know why I’m on this panel.” So I’ll instead say that I plan on speaking on the panel representing the people - the mainstream demographic that many exist social networking services cater to. People could talk about graph theory until the cows come home, but it’ll be for naught if the Brazillians (Orkut) or the thousands of Asians that typed in MixEd KaPPz (Friendster) don’t use them, right? And if the conversation goes dry, hopefully someone attending will scream out the word “FISTING” so I can toss a chair into the audience.

Austin is on an hour away. I’m thinking it’s worth the drive to scream “fisting” at Ernie.

I’m going to have to stop reading blogs now, because all this talk about this years SXSW that i’ll be missing is killing me.

I can’t wait to tell everyone I know that I know someone who is speaking at the SXSW conference. They probably won’t even believe me.

Hey, Ernie, just make sure your fly is zipped before you get up before a big room full of people. That’s my helpful hint! ;)

If you promise not to say fisting at my panel then I promise not to say fisting on your panel. Deal? And in addition to that zipper comment, triple check for eye boogers, kay baby?

I found the pix from 2001’s interactive. You in a cowboy hat hoss. I’m thinking backround slide for the panel. Bwhahaha.

And you *know* someone’s goin to scream that now.

If you really want someone to yell it out, I’m in Austin. I’ve said “Michael Phelps’s ass” in a conference question, but never “fisting.” Could be an interesting moment.

Yay! I can’t wait to see you and Joyce speak on the panel! I’m sure you and Joyce will do well.
Regarding MJ’s comment, also be sure to blow your nose, so you don’t have any gold nuggets hanging out of your nose. It’s really distracting to see someone speaking when they have a booger hanging out of their nose.

And i’m stoked to finally meet you. I’m all down for fisting commentary. Moo ha ha ha. Of course, i keep confusing audiences by talking about geeks, freaks and queers so i wonder how odd it would be coming out of us. Hmm… what is a more subversive term?

Thank you for *finally* establishing the word “gaysian.” I guess you sort of ACtually established “gaysianblogs,” but I think “gaysian” is in there by inference.

Feel free to use a term my friends and I have become quite accustomed to: “crazian.”

Sweet news man. Aside from being my favorite gay, asian blog, you’ve got one of my favorite blogs going generally. And I don’t only say that because you once compared my food blog to porn.

Okay, that’s part of it, but hey.

Congratulations man, this is huge.

I noticed that they put neither your website nor your employer in the program with the panel. Just wondering if you know why?

Have a question about Yahoo. Is there any way to change the casing of my email/profile name?

when people see it on yahoo games it shows: (not my email) AzNBiGLoSeR. it was from my high school days but i have grown older and don’t want to have that teenager casing.

Maybe be you can bring that up with someone that can help me.
