A weblog by Ernie Hsiung

Some really quick notes about the mini-blog section on your right:

  1. Starting today, you can now post comments to specific links in the mini-blog. Just click on the number next to the link posted and a pop-up window will appear.
  2. There is a direct link to just the miniblog, in case you want to skip over my ramblings and want to go to the links. This means that, yes, you can now access LYD mini-blog archives.
  3. Someone has asked if there is a RSS 0.91 feed for the LYD mini-blog. Why yes, there is. There is also a RSS 1.0 feed for the mini-blog, as well.
  4. Yes, yes, I know the mini-blog archive pages aren’t very pretty. I know there aren’t any direct links there yet. Ai-ya, you’re killing me! I’ll get to it.

18 Comments to “mini-blog stuff”

  1. I’m just posting because everyone thinks the first comment is cool. This will make me cool.

    Am I cool now?

  2. And I better get my prize in the mail.

  3. GeekMan says:

Hooray! I love the mini-blog! Finally, I can read the mini-blog without any of the funny, witty and humorous posts from Ernie cluttering up my screen.

    It’s like Christmas.

  4. keeg says:

It’s about time! How many times have I wanted to check out some of your non-work safe miniblogs only to get home and find them gone with no archives!

  10. Lil says:

Ernest, I’m glad that you’re putting your idle unemployed time to good use. Mom and Dad should be proud of this new service you’ve provided for the lyd community.

  11. Jason says:

I’d been wanting a direct link to your mini-blog for at least a week. I’m glad my mental powers extend all the way to oak-town forcing you to make one.

  12. April says:

    You ROCK!

  13. Jonathan says:

Woowoo! Now I can find that Tiga video again!

  14. Taylor says:

Am i the only one that cant get the rss feed to work?

  15. David says:

FWIW, I’d prefer to see the mini-blog integrated back into the main blog, and your comments inline. I find it inconvenient to have to hover my mouse over the link to see your comments. I don’t have a steady hand and the damn tool tip disappears before I can read it all.

  16. charles says:

    that wouldn’t be a mini-blog anymore.

  17. David says:

    Bingo Charles, that is correct.

  18. S.S. says:

    Ernie,

I guess I could say that I know how you feel, but do I really? After all, I’ve faced unemployment (I’m in the IT field) and apathty … but the truth is, I still probably don’t.

I don’t want to add injury to the wounds, but about your sister – it sounds like the mental illness has been going on for years. What type is it? (Don’t reveal it if you don’t wish to). A sibling of mine is experiencing it right now, and I don’t know much about it, how long it’s going to take to get better and your post just got me really worried. I am just having a really hard time right now too, and I don’t know any friends who have gone through this before either…

Take care. You sound burnt out. Maybe a trip away from home might help?
