Paris: Holy crap, check out the news. Santana Row is on fire. Eight alarms.

Santana Row was the major shopping and residential complex that has been under construction for a couple of years while I was living in San Jose. It was scheduled to open next month. The best way to describe it: “Yuppie Housing and Stores For People Who Can’t Afford Anything Due To Our Horrible Economy™.”

Ernie: Jeezus. It’s pretty bad. Hey, isn’t Valley Fair Mall right next door?
Paris: Yeah. I don’t think that’s on fire, though.
Ernie: Could you just imagine if it was on fire, though? Hundreds of homosexuals would be out of work.
Paris: Thousands of urbanites wouldn’t have a Pottery Barn to go to.
Ernie: That’s harsh, man.
Paris: And yours wasn’t?
Ernie: True.
