It was decided today that while out for ice cream with Jen, Paris, Laurie and Belinda, that there are questions that seem absolutely outrageous and inappropriate, but if you’re with a group of people, there is at least one of the people in the group who has sat down and has thoroughly thought out a detailed answer behind it.

The first question is “if you were stranded on a deserted island, which one of your friends would you eat first?” According to Jen, it would be “Sean*, because he would have the perfect combination of protein and fat that it would be marbled, like fatty tuna sushi.”

The other is, of course, “how would you prepare for the oncoming zombie apocalypse?” (And if you must know: steal some no-refrigeration needed Nutrisystem dinners, destroy the wooden back patio stairway with a rusty axe, spend an extended period of time with my neighbor Laurie eating emergency rations and discussing who we could invite over for company [and as an emergency, as an option to eat later. See previous question.])

* Name changed because “Sean” is on Facebook and probably wouldn’t appreciate finding out via his activity feed that we would eat him.

  1. Phil says:

Judging by the looks on everyone’s faces eating those non-refrigerated dinners, you might stand a good chance of using them as a peace offering to the unsuspecting zombies.

  2. Eric says:

Did you ever read that book _Alive_? The one about that soccer team stranded in the mountains that had to resort to cannibalism to survive… I think they mention the best parts to eat are the buttocks. Your friend should love that :-)

  3. I can attest to thinking about the first question, but I never seemed to come up with an answer.

  4. PQ says:

Well, the good thing about being slightly overweigh myself, I can go without food for a long time. I can wait for all the skinny people to die off slowly, and I use them for food.

Yeah, I obviousely thought about that question before …

  5. berry says:

hey..never really thought about the 1st question before. good idea, I’ll ask my friends around the next time we hang out together.

  6. Lil says:

Jen would act like she would feel bad that she’d have to eat “Sean” but afterwards, she’d be really proud that she made the right food choice.

  7. Erin says:

I’ve thought about both questions. The zombie question was raised in a bar recently, and it turned out that everyone there had given it serious thought. I’d always been under the impression that I was not likely to survive the zombie invasion (due to several factor, including my non-ownership of weapons and because my apartment is located between 2 cemetaries), but now I have a safe house, an escape plan, and no one wants to use me for bait.
