the 10-sided die of “i don’t think so”

Yesterday afternoon: a quick lunch with Min Jung and Mike, the boyfriend.

MJ: So, what is Jason going to do while he’s out here from Chicago?
Ernie: Nothing major. I’ll probably take him around the Bay Area, a lot of the touristy stuff. I think he’s going to be checking out a live action D&D game down in San Jose, too.
Mike: Live-action D&D?
Ernie: Think so. Like, they run around a park stabbing each other with giant foam swords.
MJ: …there’s a joke in there somewhere.
Ernie: Yes, there is.
Mike: (mock jealousy) So when he’s crashing at your house, he’s not going to be stabbing you with his “giant foam sword,” right?
Ernie: Naaah. I’ll just roll my 10-sided die of “I don’t think so.”
MJ: Nice.

Say what you want, I know you still have your 20-sided die and pewter characters.

You know up here in the north west we have both Wizards of the Coast, Nintendo and Microsoft but California still can beat us for shear DORKattude.

It is a crying shame.
